I think this is the most exciting of our Cottage-Series of plans.  Using the same footprint as C-8, C-9, and C-11, this home offers a separate powder room on the main floor, and a third or even fourth bedroom upstairs.  While most of these Cottages have been designed with the elderly in mind, this one would also accommodate a large family.  Everything you need to live is still on the main floor, and is all handicapped accessible, but with this plan, there is room for a live-in care-taker, and still room for overnight guests.  The best part of this plan is the energy efficiency.  Even though the floor plan is about 300 s/f bigger than the other Cottages in the series, the exterior surface area stayed about the same, resulting in one of the lowest heat-loss per s/f ratios I have ever seen.  As with all our plans, there is room for plenty of PV panels on the south-facing roof.  This home will be built in our true-zero-energy development in Coupeville, WA during the 2009-2010 building seasons.  Be sure to check out the other plans in our Cottage Series (C-8, C-9, C-10, and C-11) for other energy efficient variations.
